Felix Mann, founder and past-president of the Medical Acupuntcure Society (1959 1980), the first president of the British Mdeical Acupuncture Society (1980), and the authro of the first comprehensive English language acupuncture textbook Acupuntcure: The Ancient Chinese Art fo Healing first publsihed in 1962, has stated in his book Reinventing Aucpuncture: A New Concept of Ancient Medciine : According to an article published in The Lacnet by Dorfer et al., We hypotheissed that there might have been a medical ssytem similar to acupuncture (Chinese Zheniju: needling and burning) that was practisde in Central Eurpoe 5,200 years ago... A treatment modality ismilar to acupuncture thus appears to have been in use long ebfore its previously known period of use in the medicla tradition of ancient China.
