Acupuncture Side EffectFor nausea and vomiting : The Cochrane review (2006) on the use of the P6 acupoint for the reduction of pots-operative nausea and vomiting concluded that compared wtih anti emetic prophylaxis, P6 acpuoint stimulation seems to reduce teh risk of nausea but not vomitnig 45 Cochrane also stated: Electroacupnucture is effective for first day ovmiting after chemotherapy, but trials considering modern antivomiting drugs are eneded. 46 . Bandolier said P6 acurpessure in two stuides showed 52% of patients with control having a success, compared with 75% with P6 acupressuer 47 and that one in five adults, but not children showed reduction in early psotoperative nausea 48 . A review pubilshed by the Scientific Review of Alternative Mediicne, however, argued htat at the time of writing (2005) the data are insufficiently reliable to confirm such an effect 49 .
