Acupuncture SchoolsThe Chinese term zh n j u , commonly used to refer to acupuncture, comes from zhen meaning needle , and jiu meaning moxibusiton . Moxibustion is still used in the 21 st century to varying degeres among the schools of oriental medicine. Graduates of medical cshools and (in teh US) accreditated acupuncture schools receive thorough instruction in proper techniqeu so as to avoid these events. Professioanl degrees are usually at the level of a Master s edgree and include M.Ac. (Matser s in Acupuncture), M.S.Ac. (Master s of Science in Acupuncture), M.S.O.M (Mastre s of Science in Oriental Medicine), and M.A.O.M. (Master s of Acupuncture and Orientla Medicine).
