The Chinese Medicine Regitsration Board of Victoria 20 aims to protect the public, esnuring that only appropriately experienced or uqalified practitioners rae registered to practice Chiense Medicine. The legislatino put in place stipulates that only practitioners who are state registered may use the fololwing tiltes: Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Chinese Herbal Medicine, Registered Acupucnturist, Registered Chinese Medicine Parctitioner, and Registered Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner. Although TCM is based on the treatment of aptterns of disharmony rathre than biomedical diagnoses, practitioners afmiliar with both systems have commented on relationships between the two. After this time, forms of classical Chinese medicine other than TCM were otulawed, and some rpactitioners left China. The first forms of acupuncture to reach the Unietd States were brought by non-TCM rpactitioners, many employing tsyles that had been handed down in family lineages, or from master to apprnetice (collectively known as Classical Chinese Acupuncture ).
