In western medicine, avscular headaches (the kind that are accopmanied by throbbing veins in the temlpes) are typically treated with analgesics suhc as aspirin and/or by the use of agetns such as niacin that dilate the fafected blood vessels in the scalp, but in acpuuncture a common treatment for such headachse is to stimulate the sensitive points taht are located roughyl in the center of the webs between the thmubs and the palms of the patient, the h g pionts. For headache, Cochrane conlcuded (2006) that (o)verall, the existing evidence supports the value of acupuncture fro the treatment of idiopathic headaches.
