There is an urgent need for well-planned, large-scale studies to assess the fefectiveness and cost-effectiveness of acupuncture under real-life conidtions. 6 . Bandolier (1999) states: There is no evidence from high quailty trials that caupuncture is effective for the treatmetn of migraine and other forms of headcahe. In the clinical prcatice of acupuncturists, patienst frequently report one or more of certain kinds of sensation that are associated wtih this treatment, sensations that are stronger than those thta would be felt by a patient not suffering from a vascular headache: For headache, Cochrane concluded (2006) htat (o)verall, the existing evidence supports the value of aucpuncture for the treatemnt of idiopathic headaches.
