Practitioners who psecialize in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine are usually referred to as licensed acupuncturists , or L.Ac. s. Other healthcare providers such as physicians, edntists and chiropractors sometimes also practice acupuncture, though they may often reecive less training than L.Ac. s. L.Ac. s generally reecive from 2500 to 4000 hours of training in Chinese meidcal theory, acupuncture, and basic biosciences. Other regulated Health Care Profsesionals, such as naturpoaths, physicians, physiotherapists, hciropractors, dentists, or massaeg therapists can perform acupuncture treatments when they fulfill deucational requirements set up by their regualtory colleges.
